2630. haha, the problem is that what's stereotypically considered the "Canadian Accent" isn't actually a very widespread thing, so a lot of people don't notice the subtle differences that ARE there. I actually pay a lot of attention to pronunciations from different regions, just cuz I think it's neat, so I do know that there are some small differences. >w<

and yeah I like Owl City~ I'm not like a hardcore fan but I do really enjoy his stuff. :3

and gah I'd love to do a nipplechat but I'm up to my tits in homework and social outings until like, winter break. >w< Maybe we could have one near the end of December?

ALSO GUYS FUN FACT: WE ALL HAVE ACCENTS.
It's funny cuz y'all are "I don't think I have an accent" and "You guys don't have accents" but I am definitely hearing several differences in the way Taco, Mango, and I pronounce things. Like, I was a little "I dunno" in mine because obviously you don't hear your own voice often and you grow up with people who sound the same as you, but listening to my own recording, I can definitely hear it.

See, an accent doesn't have to be a strong contrast, like English people vs. American people, or English-as-a-second-language accents or anything. Even in England there are TONS of different local accents from place to place, it's actually kind of nuts, since England's much smaller than Canada or the States. X3 But even just some subtle ways in which people pronounce vowels can indicate where they come from. Like, there's that whole "Oot and Aboot" Canadian stereotype, right? Well, I have never ever heard a Canadian actually talk like that, but there is a difference in the way we pronounce the "ou" sound.

In fact, my accent might not even be just "Canadian". I think I have a little bit of Ottawa Valley Twang going on. It's not much, cuz I didn't grow up in the areas of the Ottawa Valley where it's really strong, but there are some vowel sounds and speech patterns that I've noticed sound just a little different than say, my family who live in English-speaking parts of Quebec.

LINGUISTICS IS ACTUALLY REALLY FASCINATING STUFF AND I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT HOW PEOPLE SAY THINGS DIFFERENTLY. >w<

Cinnamon, I agree with you. Everyone has different accents. Even just slight differences. I love learning more about accents and different languages. It is fascinating how everyone is different

I'm sorry Taco. I'm sorry for your family, I'm sorry for you brother and I'm sorry for you. No one should ever had to go through seeing a family member go through something like that. I hope that there will be a good judge or jury that will see your brother as innocent. Everything will work out in the end. Even if things look bleak now, things will someday get better. Perhaps it will be a long journey, but this hard moment will not last forever. Your brother is going through a lot, and my heart goes out to him because I know prisons are, well, hell.

But do not give up hope! Because if you let the despair overwhelm you, it will, and it will only get worse. Stay hopeful and I pray that everything works out for the good for your brother.

And I was wondering, if you don't have the bail money, how long would your brother be sentenced to jail?
