- Chapter 16
Where in the hell was Mi-Sun? I sit here in my dressing room on the day of the big show, and she’s not even here. I haven’t seen her in these past few days, and honestly, I’m getting really worried. The night she left my apartment to get some clothes to spend the day, she had sent me a text later on, saying that she couldn’t make it, because her mother had asked her to stay. I wasn’t all too upset with that, it is her mom, we’re talking about, but not seeing her... it was worrying me. Where could she be? She wouldn’t just miss work like this, especially on the day of such a big concert. “Dammit,” I cursed, rubbing my eyebrows. Maybe she was running late... yeah. Soon enough, she’ll be here soon.
But as I continued to wait, the more worried I become. Now, it was an hour before we’re supposed to be on, and she’s still not here. I bit my lip, taking a deep breath. I really need a cigarette... but before I could move, a woman came bustling into the dressing room, holding a bag on her shoulders. Right, since Mi-Sun hasn’t showed up at all, this woman was going to be her substitute. I wasn’t happy about that. I only like it when Mi-Sun does my make-up, not anyone else, but what can I do? So I just sit there unhappily as the woman does my makeup. I hear the door open again, and I clench my jaw as she walk into the room, a smile on her face.
“Jiyong, you’re looking as handsome as ever,” she says and I say nothing in return. I only looked at her, and I feel disgust burning at the pit of my stomach. This woman makes me sick. Why is she even here?! “Where is Mi-Sun? Isn’t she your usual make-up artist?” she asks and I clench my fist. I hate hearing Mi-Sun’s name coming from her mouth. “She didn’t show up today, so I’m taking her place.” The other artist answered. “Pity. How can my husband hire such an irresponsible girl?” Bitch, you keep your mouth shut about her! “Hey, loosen up your jaw, will you?” I immediately do so, keeping my eyes trained ahead of me. If I looked at that woman again, I may just do something I’d regret later. This woman pisses me off...
My makeup is finally finished and the artist quickly left the dressing room as soon as she packed her things. Unfortunately, the bitch had decided to stay in the room, and I glare at her as I stood up from the chair. “What do you want?” I demanded and she just smiles innocently at me. “Nothing... nothing...” she answered before stalking out. I narrowed my eyes. She was acting weird... but not that I really cared. The show was about to start, and Mi-Sun wasn’t even here... dammit, where is she? I bit my lip again as I walked out of the dressing room, meeting up with the guys. “Hyung... I haven’t seen Mi-Sun anywhere...” Daesung said, worried, and I shook my head. “Me either... we haven’t seen her in two days...” Before we could discuss more, the producers we’re calling everyone’s attention. The show was getting ready to start! Alright, time to put on my game face!
--
Like usual, we put on a pretty damn good show, something that I know we’re all proud of... something I wish that Mi-Sun was here to see. Now that the show was over, and we’ve made plenty of money for the Korean Cancer Society, I can finally allow myself to be upset over Mi-Sun not being here. She missed her job, and broke her promise to me saying that she’d be here to support me. Just what was so damn important that she had to miss the show? “Jiyong.” I turn around to see my boss, a not so happy look on his face. He approaches me and the guys quickly joined me at my sides. They must have noticed the grim look on his face. “It’s Mi-Sun...” he started and I take in a sharp breath. Was he going to fire her for not showing up?
“I just got a call from her. I know you boys are friends with her, and she asked me to tell you guys that she was okay.”
“What happened to her?” I asked quickly. She was okay? Why would she be saying that!? “Jiyong, she’s in the hospital. Mi-Sun was attacked two days ago... that’s why she didn’t show up today...” And that is when all air left me.
----
I sigh deeply as I put the cellphone down on the hospital bed beside me, and that proved to be the wrong thing to do, because my ribs started to hurt like hell. I screw my eyes just and bit my lip, waiting for the pain to dull down before I opened my eyes again. “I’ll tell the nurse to give you more pain medication...” I hear my mom say before she left the room, leaving me alone with Jin, who just scoffed as soon as my mom left. “Your bitch ass just HAD to get attacked, huh?” he scowled at me and I just smile at him, seeing the extreme worry on his face. Jin was afraid, and terribly worried for me. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it lightly. “At least I’m alive, right?” I asked him and he cracks a smile at me, nodding. “Yes. ‘Cause if you had died, I’d hire a damn necromancer to to bring you back so I can kill you my damn self.” I laughed lightly, cringing a bit from the pain. “I’m sure you would.” “Damn right, bitch.”
The nurse came into the room, my mom following after, and she injected some pain medication into my IV. I smile in thanks as the nurse walked out and my mom sat in her seat beside the bed. “The police were just at our house, there were no signs of a break in at all... The department is going to pay for a room for me at a hotel until this investigation is over. Oh honey... I’m just glad you’re okay.” My mom just started to have another crying fit, and I just patted her hand, sighing a bit, wincing in pain afterwards. Ow.
A half hour later, my mom left the hospital, seeing as my grandmother was having a freakout what has happened to me. I was left with Jin, who took the day off from his daily stalking to be with me. “What I don’t get is... nothing was taken from your house... this person just attacked you... but Mi-Sun... what is the purpose of this?” Jin looks at me and I just stare at the ceiling. “I think I know who was behind this...” I muttered to him. I know who exactly it was.
The door to the room open, and my eyes go wide when the boss just walked right in, a grim look on his face. “S-sir!” I said, surprised. He looked at me for a few seconds, before he just sighed, in what sounded like relief. “Thank goodness, Mi-Sun,” he said, and it was a shock to see the boss of YG Entertainment just slump in the chair beside my bed. The worry and relief was evident on his face. “Sir... I’m so sorry...” I looked away from him, noticing Jin sitting very quiet besides me, not even looking at the boss either. “There is no need to be, Mi-Sun. Just be grateful you’re still alive. I knew a hard working woman like you wouldn’t just skip out on an important day like this.” I nodded quietly, biting my lip. It wasn’t really my fault, but I still felt guilty anyway. “This is a horrible thing that has happened. Mi-Sun, you will not have to worry about the medical bills, we will pay the hospital for their care for you. I am also aware your mother has some money she owes to the hospital as well, we will pay for that as well.” I opened my mouth to protest, but he held a hand up, silencing me. “Please, we want to make you and your family as relaxed as possible while you recover. While we’re on that topic, you will be receiving paid sick leave, and the company will help you with any other financial needs.”
I stared at him in shock, my eyes wide and filling with tears. “Y-you would do that...? For me?” He nodded at me, smiling. “Of course, you’re part of the YG family, and you will have our support 100%.” I nodded silently again, quickly but carefully wiping the tears from my eyes. “Thank you, sir...” I said softly, bowing my head a bit. He gets up from the chair, giving me a smile before he looked at Jin, hesitating a bit before he left the room. Almost as soon as he left, GD came rushing into the room, and that is when I can really feel the tears sting in my eyes. “Mi-Sun!” He comes to the side of my bed, reaching out to hug me, but he stops suddenly upon seeing just how beat up I am. I notice the other guys come in, and my eyes are set only on GD’s, seeing them water up just at the sight of me.
I had a bandage wrapped around my head, my face covered in bruises. He could see the bruises that when down my neck and arms, but not the ones that were going down my chest, stomach, sides, and legs. “I have two broken ribs... my leg is broken, a concussion... and I’m just bruised all over...” The tears fall from my eyes, and before I know it, I was sobbing. “I’m sorry, Jiyong! I should have told you, but I didn’t want you to worry about me when you had the show! I just wanted you to focus.” He gently reaches and touches my face, making ssh-ing noises. “Baby... I was so worried about you... you should have just called me. I... my God, why did this happen to you? What did you do to deserve this?” The tears were falling from his eyes now, not making me feel any better at all. I lightly wiped the tears from his face. “I don’t know...” I said to him, sighing, and wincing afterwards. I didn’t want to tell him who I thought was the culprit was, because I knew he was going to flip out, and he didn’t need that... he didn’t need another controversy. “But I’m okay... I’ll be fine...” I cracked a smile at him, and he returns it. “My baby is a champ...” he muttered and I nodded. “I sure am...”
The rest of the boys were able to get their words in, causing me to cry even more with how worried they were for me. Me, just a makeup artist. I sometimes thought about how exactly did I come to be friends with Big Bang, but in the end, I will never regret it. “You guys... I hope you did good with the concert tonight,” I told them with a smile. “I’m just sad that I had to miss it.” I really was. Though, I felt a bit awkward now, and I knew why. I looked over at Jin, who had stayed quiet since the boys came into the room. I noticed the wary looks he has received, and I sighed, wincing a bit. “You guys, I know everything,” I said, mainly to TOP, Dae, Bae, and Seungri. They all straightened up and looked at me. I didn’t explain myself, since they should know what I was talking about. “Jin is my best friend, you won’t have to worry about him saying anything...” Jin looked at me, and I smiled, causing him to roll his eyes. “Bitch, I don’t need you speaking for me,” he said, and I heard a growl. I looked over at GD, who was glaring daggers at Jin. “Who do you-” “Oppa! It’s fine. Like I said, we’re best friends. I don’t mind. He’s called me worse things than that. If I’m not insulted, you shouldn’t be. He doesn’t mean it.” JIn snorts and I swatted my arm at him, before crying out in pain. Jin laughed at me, and I pouted. “That’s what you get, bitch,” he said, grinning. I pouted, looking at GD, who didn’t seem happy at all. I took his hand and squeezed it a bit, earning a smile from him. Good.
“Oh hey! JIn, you should meet Seungri~!”
“That’s not funny!”
----
Later on, it was about time that the boys and Jin had to leave the hospital. The boys were getting along with Jin, which made me very happy, since I wanted all of us to be friends. Jin purposely flirted with Seungri, knowing it was going to make the poor maknae uncomfortable, and we can only laugh at his pain. The boys all gave me careful hugs, GD being the last to do so. Though, he also added a long, breathtaking kiss that left my face flushing red when he pulled back. He smirked at me, giving me another quick kiss. “I’ll try to be here tomorrow, okay babe?” he asked and I nodded, smiling. “I hope so... I love you.” He kissed me again. “I love you too.” Tears were in my eyes as he finally left the room, leaving me all alone yet again. I hated sleeping alone in this room, and I wasn’t even sure just how long I’ll be stuck in the hospital. I took a breath, cringing afterwards, and just relaxed. I took Jin’s phone from the side of the bed, him letting me borrow it since my phone has been taken away from me after the attack. I don’t really know why he’d let me borrow it, maybe because of the games on the phone that can cure my boredom...? Well, it wasn’t doing anything for me now...
Resting my head against the pillow, I closed my eyes. I might as well get some sleep. A few minutes later, I hear the door to the room open and then close, though I didn’t look to see who it was. It was probably just a nurse who was checking on my IV.
“You poor dear...”
My eyes flew open and I stared in shock at the woman standing at the foot of my bed, a look of fake worry on her face. I knew it! She had something to do with this! I narrowed my eyes at her, and she just smiled at me, that smile causing shivers to go down my spine. This woman was absolutely evil...
