THE GREAT OURAN MARATHON Empty THE GREAT OURAN MARATHON

Post by Cinnamonipples Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:46 pm

THIS WILL HAPPEN, AND I WILL BE THERE.

Here's my idea: Sometime, probably in late December or early January (because I know a lot of people have breaks then), we watch all 11 episodes of Ouran Live Action. All at once. A 5-6 hour marathon. With livechat.

Because it's hard to get them all synced up separately, we'd just probably 3-2-1 it, and then give a few minutes at the end of each episode for anyone who was straggling.

HOW DOES THIS SOUND TO PEOPLE? I WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

I'm going to be home(rather than in Japan) so it sounds good to me, since I'll be closer in time to most of you then.

I wanna do it too- but I always have problems downloading the episodes. Is it okay if I just stream them???

Or is it available on veoh? Cause I can download it the episodes there.

Streaming is fine, for sure! Just let us know when you're loading the next part, I guess, and we can pause or something. XD

No way...I'll just download as much episodes as I can find on veoh (I think there are 3 maybe, I'll check) and for the rest, I'll just download them before the whole marathon starts cause streaming videos takes LONG based on what time it is.

I was planning on streaming on Dramacrazy...maybe that wouldn't be the best idea.....I'll have to decide when to DL them.

guess I'll have to get to actually scheduling this thing. XD I need to see when I'm off school and what my parents' plans are for Christmas, since we visit relatives a lot during that time.
Glad y'all are enthusiastic about it, though. >w<

Fear not, I have not forgotten about this. X3

Tentative date: December 30th. It's a Friday, and it's not New Years, and it's not immediately after Christmas.

Tentative starting time: Midnight, Japan time, just like when Ouran aired. I'm willing to push it back as far as 10:00 PM Japan time, if need be, but that's 9:00 AM my time, and I don't want to wake up any earlier than 8:00 (and I'll need an hour to make sure I'm ready to sit down to six hours on the computer).

Any deep, soul-chafing problems with these times?

Uhhhhh...I sorta have a problem- midnight in Japan time is 11pm in my time (I'm only 1 hour behind Japan). So that's means I would have to stay up all night for the marathon- and I don't like staying up pass 2am cause I have a weird paranoid feeling everytime I stay up around the haunting hour...yeah, I know- it's stupid but that's how I feel. Headesk Sweatdrop I have no problem with the date though. Onion Thumbs Up

I'm going to be home, so I'm with Cinnamonipples in timezone timing. With 11 episodes, at just under 25 minutes a piece, it means just under 5 hrs. What if we started around 6 pm EST which is 8am JST, that way no one is trying to stay up all night....well at least not yet.

Here's a good website for figuring out the best time for everyone (there isn't many when we're all over the place tho. Very Happy)

Hm, this is just the problem with us living all over the world =_=
That's eleven pm for us in the UK ^^'
I personally don't mind but yeah, others might I guess xD

Also for entertainment purposes I would like to point out that when I came to this topic today there was a list of "Similar Topics" from other forums ('cause I was logged out), one of which was "What a great pantry should look like."
I have to say I don't see the connection.

    XD nice.

A lot of us managed to work out the midnight Japan time airtime for Ouran, so I figured it would be alright? I know it's gonna be like 6 hours, which is why I'm willing to back it up a little.

    Up to you guys. >w<
10:00 PM Japan time, 11:00 Japan time, or midnight Japan time, I think would be best. We could go past that but that also gets later into the night for many people, I think. So, if you think it should be earlier than midnight Japan time, no problem. Earlier than 10:00 PM Japan Time might start to get really early for those on the other side of the world, though, like I know Cindy lives in a time zone earlier than mine.

    dammit, time zones. XD

Actually I think it's 9 AM EST? Either that or I'm not in EST. Because during Nipplechat, midnight in Japan was 11 AM for me, not 10 AM.

    BUT YES.
I'll send the info to Cindy soon. Not right now cuz I need to get ready for school. >w<

Aargh, I've been missing everything lately.
Yes - great idea! Unfortunately 6pm EST is 11pm here in Britain, but I don't mind staying up for one night if it means nipplechatting. Can't guarantee staying awake, but I'll try. Durr, replying to the wrong page. Yeah, what you guys said time-wise is fine.

But yes yes yes, please make this happen!

I checked at the world clock site, 10pm JST is 8am EST. When Ouran was being shown NA was on Daylight savings time, but Japan doesn't do that, so there is a 14 hr difference now, before there was only 13 hrs difference.
