Ouran Movie

So yesterday I went and saw the movie. I really enjoyed it, even though I couldn't understand everything that was said. Our boys were in fine form! I have to admit, I didn't think the part of the youtube video where Yusuke Yamamoto was running and his kimono came open was anything but an outtake....however there is a part where he has to keep pulling his kimono closed otherwise he'd flash the audience. Everyone (mostly teen and pre-teen girls) laughed at that.

The chick from AKB48's English was okay except when she had a long speech, then it got a little awkward. 2pm's Nick-kun's English was much better. And we even got to hear Daito speak a little English (the Daito fangirl in me squeeled).

All in all a good movie, but still left lots open to more movies or a series 2. I can't wait to see it again, this time with subtitles so that I can understand all the touchy-feely parts I missed out on.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh. You have no idea how envious I am of you. Heck, I would still squee every ten seconds just because heck I AM WATCHING THE OURAN MOVIE!!!!!! I hope they come out with it online with subtitles, and hope that it would lead to another movie or season! I can't get enough of these people.

It might be selfish and illegal for me to ask, but can you go watch it again and take pics or a short video clip of it? (even if it's blurred, I'm okay with it!!!!) I'm such a bad girl...but I would do it for you guys if I could!!!!

I thought about it when I went, but Japan seems to be very serious about not doing that. Before every movie there's a "don't record the movie" commercial and I'd rather not be arrested. But to be honest the pics/videos on the movie thread(and in the previews) do show a good number of the big scenes. Sorry

I have a small question >_< Maybe it was already said somewhere, but I haven't read anything about it, soo. Does the movie cover manga events? Or it's an original story? I thought Michelle + her brother will be the story from manga, only with Singaporean Princess. What about the rest?

I hope it covers manga T_T

As I myself have not read all the Manga, I am only go off of other comments: the main section of the movie is based on the Sports Tournament storyline in the Manga(red/white teams, etc.) The rest is a bit random additions. I believe that Bisco Hatori herself actually helped write the screenplay, so it might be a touch original story with some Manga storylines linked together.

Did that help? Which, I read the Tournament section of the Manga and I am super excited to see it played out in real life

I was afraid we'll get an original story ("filler") even though there's lots of material in manga, so this makes me happy XD The Tournament was awesome, I'm reaaally pumped for the movie now (not like I wasn't before, but you know... XD)

I understand. When some of the girls here got a hold of some casting sheets for people to be bleachers, dressed as football teams, and as sports type people, and the girls were super excited because they took this as a sign of the Tournament. I asked what the heck they were talking about and they directed me to the Manga numbers. I found them online and read them, and I was super excited!

I really, really want to see Kyouya's parts. He is such a deep character, and the storyline really delves into him. Plus, I have seen a few pictures of him from the movie and it looks like we will get to see him in his normal life, which I find fascinating

You're both right. Michelle and her brother as well as the sports tournament are in the movie. And Bisco Hatori did write the screen play.

It's been years since I read the manga, so I didn't remember that those were storylines.
